Installation and operation
1. Before putting into operation, lightning arrester should accept preventive test before the comming of thunder rain season, thereinto, test items for arrester without gaps are external insulation measurement, DC UImA voltage measurement, current and resistandce current measurement under AC operating volatage; arrester with series gaps should accept external insulation measurement, electric conduction current measurement, power frequency voltage discharging test; preventive test can be omitted for lightning arrester with disconnector after being put into operation.
2. Power frequency withstand test for lightning arrester should not exceed the rated voltage value.
3. Don't dismantle the lightning arrester randomly.
4. Lightning arrester with disconnector will unable to keep working after tripping operation of disconnector.
5. Installation of lightning arrester should be carried out according to the specifications strictly, the two side should be connected firmly and should be earthed reliably.
6. When installing line type arrester with series gaps, please leave enough parallel distance between it and line insulator.

Transportation and storage of lightning arrester
Lightning arrester should be protected from impact, shake or knock during transportation or knock during transportation or storage. For porcelainclad lightning arrester and lightning arrester with gap in arcing chamber can not be placed upside down or horizontally.
